Save the date for January 15-18, 2010

Forty-five years ago Martin Luther King had a dream. For all of us. A dream that broke down discrimination and gave everyone the freedom to follow their dreams. To get an education. To pursue a career. To serve in public office. Or simply strengthen our communities by helping one another. Join us as we celebrate Dr. King's dream and the countless others that have been achieved because of it.

The Dream Continues...

On behalf of the MLK Dream Weekend staff, we are grateful for the support and enthusiasm with which the upstate community of SC has embraced the efforts of MLK Dream Weekend over the past 4 1/2 years! Since the inception of this project in 2005 and the first celebration in 2006 to the present, MLK Dream Weekend events have hosted literally thousands of individuals including youth, along with many groups, non-profit organizations, businesses, elected officials, and churches. We have participated in events that have successfully brought together various ethnicities, backgrounds and cultural expressions to celebrate the progress of our community, as well as inspiring dreams.

As we approach the 5th Annual MLK Dream Weekend in January 2010, the vision for this event continues to be that of reflecting the best of our community by intentionally creating synergistic, mutually beneficial relationships between businesses, organizations and individuals. Our desire is to implement events and activities that inspire dreams, ignite individual potential, as well as provide clear strategies for turning dreams into reality. We are excited to share with you examples of success stories from previous MLK Dream Weekend efforts.

Our goal is that 2010's events will expand our capacity to inspire and implement plans that will change lives and improve the quality of life for our community and its citizens. Keep checking back with this website as well as our Facebook page to learn of the activities and opportunities we have in store for the remainder of this year as we lead into our 5th celebration January (insert dates) 2010.

Keep Dreaming!!
